The What of Pooh?

"While Eeyore frets, and Piglet hesitates, and
Rabbit calculates, and Owl pontificates...Pooh just is."

In my Humanities class, our teacher asked us to recommend some sort of a humanity for everyone else in the class to read, see, etc. I recommended my favorite book The Kingdom Keepers by Ridley Pearson (I would highly recommend it). A girl in my class recommended a book that especially caught my eye, called The Tao of Pooh. So I went to my library and read it. It was a quick-read and I simply adored it. For those of you Pooh lovers, and don't deny it because I know you all are, Benjamin Hoff makes the book a story of Pooh and his furry friends showing the world the secret to the wisdom of the Taoists by showing that Pooh just is.

I really enjoyed the book because number 1, it was a quick-read. And number 2, it depicted such a good knowledge of the world through a beloved children's show and collection of books. This philosophical book explains how you have to go through life and let things happen, and "to be", and find happiness. The author explains through different stories of Winnie the Pooh, how to just "be". It actually made me stop and think about my life and the way I live it. So go out to your local library and pick it up! It'll give you great words of wisdom that can really change the way that you look at things.

We Are the World

So I knew the original version of We Are the World was written by Lionel Richie awhile back. But I had no idea there was a new version of the song for Haiti! Listen to it! I love it!!

Street Wars!

So I'm in this game with a bunch of people in my youth group and some others around the area called Street Wars. Basically, I am given a target that I have to shoot with a water gun. Once I shoot them, I receive their target information and it keeps going until nobody is left.

But there's a catch. I also have an assassin. Everybody in the game does. This person has me as their target and is out to get me. To go along with the two high school's hours that are involved in the game, from 6:14 until 3:07, nobody can get hit and legally be out (to be more fair). So far, I got my first target and am on my second. My first was easy-it was a girl on the varsity soccer team at my school. I waited until she left the locker room and basically chased her down. She claimed that I was on school property but that rule only applied until 3:07. This was fair game...so I'm still in!

However, my next target is really difficult to get because they don't go to my school and are really good at the game. I don't know how to get them because they're more difficult to find :/

Anyway, keep up with me as I'm playing this game! I'll post everytime there are any updates in the game!

Let's do some...cooking!

So the other night I felt real crafty and wanted to actually do some cooking! My parents were out at a dinner party so I decided to make myself some dinner. When I looked in my pantry, the only thing I saw that was appealing was a premade bagged bow tie pasta mix so I made it. But I decided to also take pictures to document my exciting adventure (haha not really that exciting) and I wanted to post them. So check them out!
This is the boiling milk, butter, and water with the pasta mix.
Check out my awesome photography skills!

I just had to add some garlic salt because there wasn't enough flavoring!

Here's the finished product :)

New Years...and I'm back!

I would first off like to start by saying that I'm back! I got realy busy over the rest of my summer and during the school year. It's now second semester at my school and I'd like to try blogging again because I love it!

For my New Year's resolution, I wolud like to make this a year of trying new things and having no regrets. I want to be fearless. Last year, I tried out roller coasters for the first time and traveled like crazy. I went to Disneyland, Universal Studios Hollywood, Six Flags at L.A., Disney World, and Universal Studios Orlando. I went on so many roller coasters! But this year I'd like to take risks and have no regrets for anything that may happen.

The other night, I watched Julie and Julia with Maggie from My Utopia. I absolutely loved it! It made me start to consider possibly going to culinary school or learn to cook. Also, the character Julie in the movie created a blog for cooking. It helped to remind me that I once was crazy about blogging and helped me to realize that blogging is what I love to do because I know I won't be judged for what I say.
Anyway, I'm going to try to keep blogging a lot not because I want people to read it, but because I love blogging. It's what I do!
